My husband and I decided to completely change our bedrooms. We took out everything, linens, curtains, decor, accessories, furniture and ripped up the carpet. What a mess! However, under the old carpet was a beautiful wooden floor. It took a lot of grinding, polishing, and then a wax job, great!
Now it came to color choice is not easy to work with men and women. We agreed on anything forever. In the end we decided to just paint the walls white with pale green trim, I hate to GREEN, we put pine wall board on one wall. We chose the bedding and accessories dark green with tan background match pine.Darker green curtain is pulled back with a nice light tan. Looking good. We put the furniture back to just my husband added storage under the bed and put shelves in the closet gives me a lot more storage space.
For the decor, I went with Indian items such as dream catchers, peace pipes, all axes with feathers to match our colors. I have a picture of an Indian princess and a warrior. Have the main decoration of white buffalo and wolves. I added decorative pillows and my favorite baby deer.
I do not like green, but the room came together and it was nice. I'm so happy we did not discuss the bedding, accessories, decor and curtains. What do people know anyway? I love my new bedroom, my husband is OK with things Indian. Its simply not what is encountered before.
A lot of hard work and working together, plus we did all the work instead of hiring someone to come in. We work at your own pace, we know that a good quality all the way, where as if someone comes in you never know what it is unless you stay on top of them right. Plus some contractors use cheap materials and cut corners to put money in your pocket and your left with a job that will last, will not keep or even satisfied with the work of just stuck. Its quiet expensive to get the money all at once to the contractor. Doing the work themselves with their pay as you go. We did not go in dept, all to be paid and gives a sense of pride to tell me this!
