Be selective about what to keep in the general vicinity of your workplace. This is your "prime real estate" and should be filled only items you need on a regular basis. Keep the files you access often at your fingertips. Often times, when I called to help the organization see that my client is storing your files away from their main work areas for aesthetic or storage issues. It was a big mistake. If the file is not easily accessible, you will not use them. This leads to a pile of paper and organization of disaster. Moving files that do not access often, for example, certificates and testimonials from past years, away from their immediate work area. The same goes with your office supplies. Keep frequently used items close at hand, move or remove the rest.
