Living Cheap - It Can Be a Way of Life - Try Living Cheap and See

Living inexpensive way of life in our home for 35 years (how long we are married). We had lived through years of cheap thinking and a lot of tough times. Consumption habits, at least on the staples, have remained the same. So in this current economy does not notice that much difference in how we spend.

I was in commercial real estate brokerage business for the past couple of years before we retired in early 1994, I was 49 years. Commission earnings came in pieces, when the work was good it was very good. We had nice cars, always paid in cash, and life was good. It's still good now, with a lot less money.

My wife solves 90% of spending on household items. Its consumption has remained the same regardless of whether I brought home a big check. It is still a buyer at Goodwill, garage sales and was always on the lookout for bargains. We personifies cheap life without sacrifice.

It is 2009 and our economy is in bad shape to say the least. Many people are tightening their belts. This is nothing new for those of us who have always been living cheap. Here's how you can too.

use credit cards only when it can pay off the balance, never ever pay a dime of interest to Visa or MasterCard ... do not have more than one credit card ... The only exception will be 10 to 20% off your first purchase when you apply for store credit cards ... buy that refrigerator on Lowe's, save $ 150, pay off the card and cut to seek, save and use coupons ... never enter a grocery store without a coupon ... wait until the store has double or triple coupon days, it happens often Use the store card customers ... they are free ... they can offer huge savings ... look at the checkout stand, you do not see how ... too busy to go to customer service, too busy to save $ 3.00 on purchase of $ 8.50 ... some can not be bothered, you're smarter than that garage sale ... These two words are not under you, and as a buyer and seller or never buy on credit ... No payment until next year ... All this means that you pay twice for the furniture you can buy at a time Do not .. You do not deserve new clothes or a new car, so you can feel better about yourself ... If you can not pay cash or pay off your credit card at the end of the month ... Do not buy it

I hope it's not anything drastic to you, it's all common sense.

Living cost is doable, it's fun, and it is a practical way of life. It has become a way of life for us and it might be for you as well. Enjoy.
